One of the things we love most about Minnesota is the number of historical venues offered. Estate and mansion venues are amazing wedding backdrops for a few reasons. Firstly, they often offer unique architecture, perfect for photography and establishing a sense of luxury. Additionally, they are a great choice for couples with various style preferences.
Bavaria Downs in Chaska is an absolute favorite wedding venue of mine. It’s no secret this venue and its European features inspire me as a wedding photographer.
Chaska reception venues
Bavaria Downs, located in Chaska, is just 30 minutes away from downtown Minneapolis. As a couple, you can to embrace either the vintage charm or luxurious side of the space. In contrast, you can also plan an intimate yet elegant, and modern wedding. What makes Bavaria Downs particularly special is its countryside views with a French charm.
A Bavaria Downs wedding is unlike any other. This dreamy Minnesota Euro-style venue has a sophisticated French flair sitting on rolling hills with noble oaks, rustic exposed rock, and timeless architecture accented with the fine details of European opulence.
Getting Ready Room at Edward Anne Estate
One of the highlights of Bavaria Downs is the extensive facilities for getting ready. Whether you prefer a spacious and luxurious suite or a cozy bridal room, there are options to suit your preferences. These dedicated spaces are designed to provide a comfortable and stylish environment for you and your wedding party to prepare for the big day. From elegant dressing areas to well-appointed lounges, you’ll have everything you need to ensure a smooth and stress-free start to your wedding day.
Our morning began in the Edward Anne Estate’s bridal suite , where we captured the bride’s exquisite details. The Randal Loeffler Shoes served as the bride’s “something blue” tradition, which I’ve shared in link. She finished getting ready, but not before we took some boudoir photos.
The Wedding Day
For the wedding ceremony, Bavaria Downs presents a range of beautiful indoor and outdoor options. The estate’s picturesque gardens and scenic vistas offer a stunning backdrop for outdoor ceremonies, with inspiring rolling hills adding to the natural beauty. Imagine exchanging your vows surrounded by the charm and elegance of this historic venue, capturing timeless wedding photos that reflect the romance of the location. Apricot Florals could not have created a more beautiful arch to be married under. A pop of vibrant color is the 2024 trend we hope to see more of. We’re predicting corals and shades of [?] continue to be the color of the summer.
When it comes to the reception, Bavaria Downs offers two sophisticated indoor spaces: the Grand Ballroom and Garden Room. Both spaces provide an elegant atmosphere for your celebration, with their intricate woodwork, grand staircases, and tall soaring ceilings. Whether you desire a formal sit-down dinner or a lively cocktail-style reception, these spacious and versatile areas can accommodate your needs and preferences. We celebrated the reception in the Grand Ballroom, meticulously styled by Style-Architects Weddings & Events.
Overall, my personal favorite part of this wedding day was the heartfelt toasts from family members. It was so much fun to see all of the smiles.
The Team
Congratulations to the newlyweds! The entire vendor team as well as Hannah and the Bavaria Downs team, were absolutely incredible to work with! The bridesmaids looked amazing in their dresses by Kennedy Blue and the men in their suits from Men’s Wearhouse. I was fortunate enough to work with my favorite friend, Amanda Nipoldt on the photography and video team. A few Bavaria Downs amenities include:

Sunset Photos
The golden hour ceremony concluded at sunset and guests transitioned to the ballroom where they enjoyed speeches and dinner by D’Amico Catering. The evening ended with dancing and romantic sunset photos. We all wish you all the best as you continue adventuring together as husband and wife!
