Top 10 Wedding Venues in Minneapolis

Best Wedding Venues in Minneapolis

As a wedding photographer in Minneapolis, I have had the immense privilege of photographing some of the best local wedding venues. Minneapolis continues to captivate with its array of enchanting wedding venues. From European-inspired chalets and estates to chic urban spaces, the Twin Cities area offers a range of options for any couple. I am excited to share the top 10 wedding venues in Minneapolis (full disclosure, these are my favorites within 30 mins of the cities).

10. The Royal Golf Club

As a preferred Wedding Photographer of the Royal Golf Club, I have the pleasure of photographing 2-3 weddings per year at this stunning venue. The Lakeside Ceremony space has one of the most epic views for an “I do.” The blank slate-style reception hall has so much potential. I love how clean and elegant this venue is and am happy to share a few of my favorite spots on the grounds. You can read my published Minnesota Bride Magazine article online. The stunning outdoor ceremony space overlooks scenic Horseshoe Lake. Both convenience and beauty are what make this unique space a perfect location for your wedding ceremony!

9. White Bear Yacht Club

The White Bear Yacht Club is located on the shore of White Bear Lake, just northeast of the Twin Cities. Panoramic views of the lake and Manitou Island, manicured gardens and sprawling lawns, and sunset scenes from the dock make the Yacht Club one of the most romantic backdrops in the Twin Cities. The indoor reception space can accommodate up to 175 of your favorite people. The Clubhouse features beautiful natural light, a stunning grand staircase and an intimate, yet inviting atmosphere.

8. Loring Social

Just south of downtown Minneapolis is the Loring Social venue. The space features historic brick walls, charming chandeliers, and modern contemporary artwork and decor. What makes this a unique venue is the versatility of the space – it really can fit any vision you have! I particularly love the venue’s signature garage doors. These open up into the Loring Social Alleyway – a favorite photo location for many photographers.

7. Nicollet Island Pavilion

The Nicollet Island Pavilion is an iconic Minneapolis wedding venue. It overlooks the Mississippi River with a stunning view from the outdoor ceremony location. As you step into this timeless venue, you will be captivated by breathtaking vistas of the famous Minneapolis bridges and the picturesque skyline that stretches before you. Imagine exchanging your vows with the shimmering waters of the river under the Downtown skyline as a stunning backdrop then capturing first look and private couple photographs amidst the city’s remarkable landmarks. This is a huge venue that can accommodate 500+ guests.

Overall, the venue is the perfect combination of waterfront charm with urban elegance. Nicollet Island Pavilion blends old-world charm with contemporary elegance by retaining its original exposed brick walls and tall industrial ceilings.

6. The Depot & Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel

The Depot combines vibrant urban feel with historic features, like exposed brick, throughout the venue! If you have any out-of-town guests for your wedding, they can stay right at the hotel, making for a very fun (and convenient!) night. The rooms are gorgeous and perfect for your getting ready photos.

5. The Beach Club

I may be biased because The Beach Club is in my backyard, but I love it. The grand ballroom makes such a statement for your ceremony space. My favorite thing to do is for us to sneak off across the street to the beach for sunset photos. How truly Minnesotan to include lakeside photos of your big day? One incredible idea is to rent a boat during cocktail hour and sneak away for a private Champagne pop with your new spouse.

The Beach Club is simply a beautiful wedding venue. It is well-equipped to host the wedding of your dreams. The Solarium ballroom has large, arched windows and they flood the event space with sunlight. They also provide dramatic views of Minneapolis’ trendiest neighborhood and can accommodate 230 guests.

4. Urban Daisy

The concept behind Urban Daisy was to create a harmonious fusion between contemporary design and abundant greenery. By integrating modern aesthetics with lush vegetation, Urban Daisy offers a unique experience where guests are transported to an oasis of nature right in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. The venue aims to captivate visitors with its enchanting ambiance, making them feel as if they have stumbled upon a hidden garden sanctuary. The grand reception hall, characterized by its elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, provides a spacious layout adorned with twinkling lights. It’s the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable celebration. With every detail carefully curated, from the first dance to the heartwarming toasts, Urban Daisy promises to make any event shine and leave a lasting impression.

It truly is a clean, blank canvas. Its simplicity in design is perfect for any bride with a vision. I have watched the space transform so many times. And what is amazing is each wedding day is just so perfectly aligned with the couple I am photographing. The windows are a feature worth booking over. But what wowed me as a vendor was how well-thought-out the space logistics are arranged with secret service tunnels and so much thought put into how the day will flow.

I have the pleasure of photographing about 2-3 weddings at Urban Daisy each year. And each completely transforms the space.

3. Hutton House

The Hutton House is a popular wedding venue located minutes west of Downtown Minneapolis. It offers elegant surroundings, thoughtful planning, and an impeccable level of personalized service. The venue The Hutton House is an urban oasis with soaring ceilings, natural light and beautifully designed private spaces.

2. Lafayette Club

If you have a classically elegant style and appreciate a ballroom reception, I highly recommend scheduling a tour with The Lafayette Club. Your guests will enjoy the club’s history while they take in the scenic view of Lake Minnetonka.

You can host up to 500 guests:

  • Timeless Crystal Ballroom with stunning hardwood floors and large crystal chandeliers
  • Ballroom featuring a 1200 square foot balcony for cocktail hour
  • Outdoor Crystal Bay Garden for your scenic lakeside ceremony and photos.
  • Getting-ready suite featuring large mirrors, five vanities, full kitchen, and a private deck so your wedding party can relax while getting ready for your big day.

1. Bavaria Downs

Without mentioning Bavaria Downs, our list of Top 10 Wedding Venues in Minneapolis would be incomplete. This luxury European-style wedding venue is located 30 minutes outside the Twin Cities. The venue is unique in its French fine art style and truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have photographed it many times, and I’m amazed every time. Our team typically photographs 2-3 weddings here each year and would love to help you plan your own Bavaria Downs Wedding.
