Modernly Elegant Equestria West Venue Opening
Minnesota Weddings
Equestria West is the newest addition to the Bavaria Downs estate, a stunning equestrian-style wedding venue located in Chaska, MN. This gorgeous venue was once a horse stable, but has been transformed into a luxurious and modern event space. Making it absolutely perfect for any wedding or special event with a modern flair. The open-concept design of Equestria West allows for plenty of natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere that is both inviting and elegant. It also is a photographer’s dream.
Equestria West Wedding Ideas
The high ceilings and expansive floor plan provide ample space for guests to mingle and dance. Whereas the stunning décor and details create a warm and inviting ambiance. From the romantic chandeliers to the luxurious leather furniture, every detail of this venue has been carefully curated to create a one-of-a-kind event experience. Personally, I love the subtle nods to the equestrian history like the iconic bridle chandelier. And, of course, the venue’s location is amazing! Equestria West at Bavaria Downs provides a stunning backdrop with rolling hills and open fields. A few really great amenities are on-site catering, audio-visual equipment, and ample parking. Overall, this is a great option for where to host your big day!

Here are some tips for what to know about Equestria West:
- Uplighting be very mindful of your choice in color for uplighting. It can totally set a mood, but it can also quickly overtake the entire space. Especially one that is white, but with almost a purple under hue. I recommend choosing white until party dancing or continue to just rock the white. This is true of Bavaria Downs as well and really effects the look of your photos.
- The catering D’amico is fabulous. Be sure to ask questions upfront about outside vendors for cake, desserts, or late night snacks. Being the exclusive caterer, there is sometimes a fee and you just don’t want to get your heart set on anything you can’t have. It’s something people don’t always know to even ask!
- The Outdoor ceremony area in the woods can be difficult for guests to access. This is because there is no real footbridge over a somewhat muddy path into a covered, wooded area. This makes it somewhat hard to dry out. Be sure to investigate for yourself on your tour! And consider what it might be like if it rains before or morning of your wedding. The Courtyard is my personal favorite, but if you set your heart on a more nature-centric area, it could be disappointing to get rained out.
- Courtyard ceremony area is beautiful. At the Equestria West venue opening, the trellis garden was obviously very young. So the garden had not really taken root or begun to sprawl over the focal-point trellis. This would be quickly remedied with time. However, consider having your florist add to the trellis in place of doing a traditional ceremony arch to help.
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or a grand reception, Equestria West at Bavaria Downs is the perfect place to say ‘I do’ with effortless cool and understated elegance. And a huge Thank you to Equestria West for Featuring my work on their website!
